Ariana Grande took home the big Artist of the Year award at the 2016 American Music Awards (AMAs) on Sunday night. Other winners throughout the night included Selena Gomez,Drake and Twenty One Pilots.
The show, broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles, was hosted by Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah, and featured performances by James Bay, Justin Bieber, Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Niall Horan, John Legend, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Twenty One Pilots and The Weeknd.

Other performances included duets by The Chainsmokers and Halsey, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, and Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar.Nominees for the annual awards were announced last month, with Drake leading the pack with a total of 13 nominations. Rihanna followed with seven nominations, and Adele and Justin Bieber each received five. Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers both received four nominations.
